Micro Moves App

JANUARY-APRIL 2022

I worked with 5 developers and a local Pilates teacher to develop an app that offers short Pilates exercises to relieve stress during the workday. I was responsible for branding, ideation, wireframing, high fidelity prototyping and user research.

Design Challenges

  • Successfully work in a diverse team to provide a live client with an effective solution
  • Create a mobile app that encourages users to move more during a typical work-from-home work day

Define

I began by completing the branding phase to prioritise the client's needs. This allowed me to understand better the visual design required for the mobile app. I presented the client with various type and colour options and finalised the branding through a live call discussion.

Discover

In the ideation stage, my responsibilities included:

  • Developing a detailed site map.
  • Examining our competitors' strategies for valuable insights.
  • Crafting user personas to represent our target audience.

To ensure the project's success, I consistently provided feedback and updates to the client and developers to keep everything on track

Develop

I refined the wireframes through multiple iterations to create a solid foundation for high-fidelity prototypes. Valuable feedback from the client helped us improve the design. See some prototype screens on the left.

Deliver

To test the prototype, I gave an information sheet to three users and asked them questions after they completed a task. I ensured they understood how to use the prototype by explaining its features and functions. After analysing the feedback, I identified areas for improvement, such as copy, navigation, and interactions. This helped me create a better user experience.
